In short, I love Sony™ products. I made this batch of icons, however, because I feel that the Sony MiniDisc™ (or MD™) technology is superior to any competing audio media. That is to say, the Compact Disc (also a Sony product) is an excellent media for the playback of digital recordings but it has its limitations like any technology. Although a CD may hold a respectable quantity of audio information, the MiniDisc, likewise, can contain the same amount of information at nearly the same quality... in a package that challenges the floppy disc in size. (the 3.5" floppy disc is a Sony innovation too, although now it has become obsolete since its introduction over a decade ago) Most importantly, the Sony MiniDisc is a recordable media - Thats right, near CD quality recordings can be stored on a Disc with a footprint that is palm-sized. There is no wearing out the MiniDisc, it may be recorded and re-recorded hundreds of thousands of times - No exageration there. You can make 'mixes' of your favorite music, just as you did with cassettes.
This icon propaganda is an unsolicited thank you to Mr. Maurita, retiring CEO of Sony, whose intuition has always been in step with the public and a step ahead of the competition. One last message: Always go with the best technology available.
